Competitors going to Perth...

The ISAF SWC / Sail Melbourne team are aware that there are a number of National Class Championships including the Australian Youth Championships taking place in Perth at the end of December and beginning of January 2015. As such we have been working hard to provide a seamless transport solution for our competitors to assist them in being able to compete in both the ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne (also Sail Sydney) and the numerous championships in Western Australia.

We are happy to inform you that we have been able to partner with the event’s new Official Logistics provider, DAZMAC International Logistics, to develop an exclusive transport package will only be available to entrants in the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne and the Invited Classes Regatta, with the packing of boats into 40’ high top containers at Sandringham Yacht Club (Trey Bit Reserve) beginning from the 15th December.

Note: due to space limitations, no containers will be admitted to Sandringham Yacht Club or Trey Bit reserve without prior written authorisation from the Event Director. 

Containers will then arrive on the ground ready to unpack at Fremantle Sailing Club prior to Christmas (anticipated first container arrival on 22nd Dec). The return journey will commence with container pick-up in Fremantle scheduled for the 12th January 2015 (TBC), with options to return to Melb, Syd or Bris. 

This transport solution is being managed by New Tack Events, on behalf of Yachting Victoria, with containers being offered on an entire container basis. Thus the more boats that you can pack in the container the less it will costs each boat. 

There are currently three freight packages available: 

  • Package A ($9,500 + GST): Sandringham YC – Fremantle SC – Melbourne (unpacking location tbc)

  • Package B ($11,000 + GST): Sandringham YC – Fremantle SC – Sydney (Turrella loading yard)

  • Package C ($11,750 + GST): Sandringham YC – Fremantle SC – Brisbane (RQYS)

  • Package D ($15,250 + GST): Brisbane (RQYS) - Sandringham YC – Fremantle SC – Brisbane (RQYS) 

In order to secure one or more containers please follow the following four (4) step processes: 

  1. Nominate a single container representative. This person will be the single point of contact with New Tack for the entire booking and transport process and will be the person responsible for coordinating all container packing and unpacking.

  2. Complete the linked BOOKING FORM to signal your intention to take one or more containers. Receipt of your request will be acknowledged and payment details will be forwarded by New Tack.

  3. Confirm you booking by making 50% Payment by 1st September 2014 (CoB)

  4. Finalise your booking by making full payment prior to 1st November 2014. 

Although we will make all efforts to obtain enough containers at this stage the booking is limited to 15 to 20 containers, and we may not be able to obtain additional spots on the required trains. Thus only completion of the online booking and payment of the deposit will secure a container.  If there is greater demand we will endeavour to secure additional capacity, however it may not be at this original price.
