Coaches/ Support Boat - Register Here

As per the Notice of Race, in order to ensure berthing access in the SYC marina and be provided with honorary membership to the yacht club, all coaches and support boats must be registered in the regatta. Due to the limited berthing available during the regatta, failure to register or display regatta authorisation will see unauthorised vessels may be dealt according to the provisions of the NoR and SIs.

What do I get as a competitor at the ISAF Sailing World Cup?

The Event understand that entry to regattas can often appear expensive, however we are working hard to ensure that your entry to this Event is considered good value by not only providing first class racing on water, but also a range of onshore activities to make the ISAF Sailing World Cup more than just a regatta it is an Event.

All regatta entrants (ISAF Sailing World Cup Classes and Sail Melbourne Invited Classes) will receive the following as a part of their entry:

  • Official Regatta Merchandise - supplied by Gill Australia

  • Honorary Sandringham Yacht Club membership for the event, allowing full member access to the facilities and services for the duration of the regatta

  • Ability to compete in an ISAF Grade 1 International regatta, on the amazing racing grounds of Melbourne's Port Phillip

  • ISAF accredited International Race Officers (IRO)

  • To full International Juries (IJ)

  • On-water Jury

  • On-site equipment inspections

  • On-site IFDS classifiers

  • Competitors are able to access the Event organised container transport solution to Perth

  • Ticket to the "Competitors party" to be held after racing on Friday, which includes;

Dinner

Entertainment (DJ)

Competitor's Remote controlled yacht challenge (winner gets a remote controlled yacht)

Competitor's Optimist Challenge (race winners from their own regatta get to race off against each other for $500 cash prize)

Coaches vs. Race Management vs. Jury "Ozi Opti Challenge"

How are Entry fees calculated?

Unfortunately the costs of delivering the racing are not covered by the entry fees paid by the competitors involved. However, we are conscious of the financial pressures on competitors and to be open we have introduced a consistent pricing model across all classes competing in the ISAF Sailing World Cup and Invited Classes, with both regattas being treated equally.

For 2014 the Entry fee is based on:

  • Single handed classes - $60 per day reduced to $45 with 25% discount if entered prior to 1 October

  • Double handed classes - $80 per day reduced to $60 with 25% discount if entered prior to 1 October

  • Triple handed classes - $100 per day reduced to $75 with 25% discount if entered prior to 1 October
