About Bayside

Where natural beauty meets contemporary living.

From Gardenvale in the north to Black Rock in the south, bayside City nestles against Port Phillip Bay's remarkable coastline. It's here that visitors and residents can enjoy pristine beaches, picturesque cliff-top walks, shopping villages with cosy cafes, superb restaurants and gourmet produce to tempt your tastebuds. World-class golf courses, Victoria's premier yacht and boating clubs, award winning architecture, eclectic shopping opportunities, nature reserves and over forty parks- it’s all here to find and discover.

History is important to Bayside with suburbs and streets retaining the names of our early settlers. There are several historic mansions, as well as 100-year-old bathing boxes and the HVMS Cerberus, resting in the shallow waters of Black Rock.

Bayside offers a variety of activities and water sports. Its yachting fraternity turns Port Phillip Bay into a patchwork of billowing sails on blue water, while fishing boats dot the bay from sunrise to sunset.

Our residents enjoy a relaxed, holiday atmosphere all year around. They're friendly, welcoming, and happy to contribute to making your visit or stay in Bayside memorable for all the right reasons.

Fifteen minutes from Melbourne’s CBD Bayside is accessible by train on the Sandringham line, by car down Beach Road or Nepean Highway and along its shoreline bike track. However you choose to come, we wish you health, happiness and fond memories.
