Yachting Australia (previously the Australian Yachting Federation) is supportive of the important role Sail Melbourne plays in attracting and promoting international standard sailing events. As the Member National Authority, Yachting Australia is Sail Melbourne's link to the International Sailing Federation and approves all World Championships held in Australia.

Yachting Victoria

Yachting Victoria, previously known as the Victorian Yachting Council, is the State’s peak body for the sport of sailing. Representing nearly 100 clubs and their members, Yachting Victoria is actively involved in the promotion, development and coordination of all aspects of yachting. A number of Yachting Victoria’s committees directly support important organisational areas of Sail Melbourne and without the dedication of hundreds of race management and onshore support volunteers, the regatta could not operate effectively.
